It is interesting to see that this still does get the odd bit of traffic from time to time.
In May 2004 Phillippa and I resigned from our jobs to set off on a year long grand tour. This will be updated sporadically and will serve as a permanent record of what should be an extremely memorable year. Of course, it also keeps us in touch with those of you back in the UK, and enables you to follow our progress.

Visual Update
For the record, I have updated the blog theme as it had long since rendered well, with items misplaced on the screen etc. I had made some efforts to customise the original Blogger theme, but that then went a bit haywire with later versions of browsers and html etc. Therefore, to tidy it up a bit I have just applied a standardised template. It may be that this is also not optimised for various different browser types, screen sizes, mobile devices etc, but it should be better than the 2004 version.
